An excerpt from the one hour TV show produced by Docere-Palace Digital Studios for the Outdoor Life Network.

Each and every day the average human being takes over 20,000 breaths. Every organ in our body needs life-giving oxygen to work—but what happens when the human body is pushed to the limits of its design—by heat, by cold, by altitude or ocean depths? Last Breath is the story of Susan Roberts and how her triathlon ended up in the weeds in Puerto Rico, a heat stroke victim desperately fighting for her life. And Dave Simmons, who's nocturnal cross country ski trip in the Sierra Nevadas turned into a frosty, frozen nightmare.

Susan Roberts has trained for the Puerto Rican Triathlon for months, but she trained in the cold climate of Michigan, and is not prepared for the heat and humidity of Puerto Rico.

Dave Simmons is a natural on cross country skis, so when his car breaks down in the Sierra Nevadas in the middle of the night, he is undaunted with the challenge of skiing his way to safety. What he doesn't count on is a broken binding that leaves him helpless in the middle of the woods.

As Susan Roberts and Dave Simmons face greater and greater physical challenges, their bodies begin to break down. In 'Last Breath,' the camera travels inside the human body to observe the human body's reaction to the extreme situations.
